Charity is the act of giving to others. It is an action instructed to every faith on earth. A moral act that benefits the soul in many ways. When we give in charity the action itself activates regions of the brain associated with pleasure. Scientists have discovered with MRI brain scanning that both mandatory and voluntary transfers increased activity in brain areas called the nucleus accumbens and the caudate nucleus. These areas have previously been associated with the brain's response to rewarding stimuli, such as drug taking or viewing pictures of loved ones. The reward reaction was more intense with the voluntary giving, which supports the notion of a "warm glow" phenomenon. So, if Science and religion both support that giving in charity is good for the soul, then what is the best way to give?
At the Frankincense Store we have our very own charity campaign. The Tin Campaign is a unique concept by collecting money at the store in a sealed tin. The entire content is then donated directly to the cause we will give to eg: a homeless person. The project is filmed and edited so you can see how the campaign went and where your money helped.
Charity can be an act of kindness, a good word, helping someone, even recovering an obstacle from the road, greeting a stranger or giving something you value to someone else, giving time and even money. These are all acts of charity; that when acted upon, the soul will feel that warm glow feeling. Free Your Senses.

When I was a young man, I wanted to change the world. I found it was difficult to change the world, so I tried to change my nation. When I found I couldn't change the nation, I began to focus on my town. I couldn't change the town and as an older man, I tried to change my family. Now, as an old man, I realize the only thing I can change is myself, and suddenly I realize that if long ago I had changed myself, I could have made an impact on my family. My family and I could have made an impact on our town. Their impact could have changed the nation and I could indeed have changed the world. ~Author Unknown
