The Making of the Store ...

The Frankincense Store has been established since January 2009. Founder and designer, Shehbaz Khan started the business with as little as 2 kilos at the Camden Lock Market with a small stall once a week. With continuous support from customers, Shehbaz is persistent in his quest to become the finest frankincense supplier .

It was after a trip to Oman he discovered the heavenly scent of Frankincense in the markets and did not know what it was. Fresh Hojary Frankincense was being burnt and immediately bought a few bags. When returning to London, at the beginning of the global economic crises in 2009, Shehbaz's work as a freelance video editor decreased. During these stressful times he would burn lots of frankincense whilst praying and meditating. The burning of frankincense really helped him to see though in a clearer vision and after about 2 weeks Shehbaz started to see his first vision. One night he had a dream, it was the content of this dream that guided him to start selling frankincense. With no background in natural medicine, Shehbaz began to study and research the benefits of the resin, and has now become a specialist in frankincense. With ancient knowldge from the People of Salalah in Oman and his own research combined allows Shehbaz to deliver this knowledge to his customers.

The Frankincense Store has been built week by week. With just passion, visualisation and patience, the store has unfolded to become the only specialist Frankincense Store in the western world. The idea is to do the best with what you have, and the store has been built with items salvaged or exchanged for frankincense. A concept of recycling is one of the main ingredients into the success of the store. Those who have visited the store really feel the presence of magic, a good vibe with lots of positive energy.
